Welcome to the About page of The ABQ Handyman. Here, you will have the chance to learn a bit about my background, my passion for home improvement, the range of skills I bring to the table, my local expertise, approach to safety, and my overall demeanor.
My name is Wes, and there is nothing I enjoy more than assisting people in tackling general home repair issues. The satisfaction of entering someone's home, identifying the challenges they are facing, and then skillfully resolving them is truly heartwarming. Witnessing the relief on my customers' faces when the job is done brings me immense joy. It is a gift I cherish – the ability to bring happiness to others. Since 2017, I have been proudly serving customers across Albuquerque and its surrounding areas. My services extend to property managers, landlords, homeowners, and even maintenance management companies in commercial settings. My journey began in maintenance, though not specifically in home repairs. I spent approximately 16 years in aviation maintenance, including 4 years of military service. The money was good, the travel exciting, but the isolated hours and lack of customer interaction left a void. While my fellow mechanics were great companions, the routine of working on the same airframes grew tiresome. To delve deeper into my experience, feel free to explore my LinkedIn profile. My fascination with home improvement dates to my childhood. I vividly remember watching Norm on "This Old House" crafting a table entirely by hand – not just any table, but a masterpiece. That moment ignited my lifelong interest in the world of home improvement. Over time, my curiosity expanded to welding, industrial work, and eventually, military and aviation. So, why the transition from aviation to handyman services? Well, the opportunities in Albuquerque for my family and me were limited in aviation. And when opportunities did arise, they came with intense competition and a kind of stress that did not align with my values. After 16 years, I realized the toll it had taken on my well-being. Then came a pivotal decision: continue down the path of military aviation or embark on an entrepreneurial adventure. The allure of creating something meaningful while helping others was strong, so I chose the latter. Stepping away from the drone of military life was challenging, but becoming an entrepreneur and contributing positively to others' lives felt right. My time in Albuquerque has been nothing short of amazing. The city's family-oriented atmosphere, coupled with its green chile and captivating balloon fiesta, create a unique blend. A simple outing to Old Town for ice cream on a sunny summer day is a cherished pleasure. And do not even get me started on the breathtaking sunsets! Albuquerque, I extend my heartfelt gratitude for being such a wonderful city. Thank you for the warmth and the countless memories. Wesley Williams The ABQ Handyman 505-289-1102 |
